How do you size a CHP?
Cogenco carries out a feasibility study using monthly gas and electricity usage supplied by the customer. The study determines which cogeneration unit would be the most suitable. The feasibility studies are carried out by Cogenco free of charge.

What would be the normal payback period following the installation of a CHP unit?
The normal payback period following installation of a CHP unit is on average between two and five years.

What is Spark Spread?
Spark spread is the difference between gas and electricity per kWhr prices. The wider the difference the more substantial the savings in energy costs with the installation of a cogeneration unit.

What are the advantages of natural gas engines over diesel engines?
Natural gas engines allow us to take more heat from the engine and exhaust and are cheaper to maintain. Natural gas engines have a servicing requirement of every 1000hrs+, whereas diesel engines have a 250hrs servicing requirement.

Does Cogenco provide a turnkey service?
